New vatroom at Château Mouton Rothschild

As part of a project initiated in 2006, SEGUIN MOREAU unveils an innovation designed for Château Mouton Rothschild: a wooden vat fitted with transparent staves so that you can see inside…

World premiere of the innovation at Château Mouton Rothschild

After six years of study, research, prototypes and production, the cooperage proudly unveils the newly patented innovation specially designed for Château Mouton Rothschild: a vat fitted with food-quality transparent Plexiglas staves. For the very first time, observers will be able to watch these vats filling up with great red wines, followed by every stage in the vinification process (formation of the marc cap, off-gas, pumping-over, release, etc.).

This innovation was of course reserved exclusively for the Pauillac Premier Grand Cru Classé until completion of its vat-house. A total of 44 vats, all fitted with two transparent staves, were delivered between March and August 2011 and then installed in September of the same year.

Inaugurated by the estate on 16 June 2013 for the start of VINEXPO, this new vat-house is the pride and joy of the SEGUIN MOREAU teams, whose daily ambition is to offer the best possible solutions meeting the expectations of winemakers the world over.
